The neoteric Vince McMahon lawsuit continues to have ripple effects. One of the culprits was found to be former UFC ace and multi-time WWE champion Brock Lesnar. The Stamford-based promotion is hellbent on distancing itself from such anti-social elements. In the latest development, PWInsider was notified by their readers that Lesnar has disappeared from the WWE 2K Supercard Digital Collectible game.
The outlet confirmed it and gave further insight. According to them, it appears like 2K, who’s also a licensee for WWE, is just following the company’s instructions. As the fans know, WWE nixed Brock Lesnar’s planned appearance at last weekend’s Royal Rumble PLE. It stemmed from the newly-surfaced allegations against Vince McMahon. Similarly, it might be WWE’s call to shun The Beast again.
Moreover, it’s been reported that, moving forward, plans are in place to downplay Brock Lesnar. If he’s not outright removed from other tools of public interest, at least his traces will be hindered. That includes 2K and other licensees WWE currently has. While Lesnar’s absolute exemption won’t happen overnight, WWE could start completely snubbing his name from the company’s history books.
Recently, Fightful noted that it could be a long while before the fans see Brock Lesnar in WWE, unless something drastic changes in the near future. As of now, there’s nothing on whether The Beast Incarnate will be publicly released by WWE. The charges put against Lesnar by plaintiff Janel Grant are vile, to say the least. The fans have admitted that holding back Brock’s return was the right move by WWE.
How Brock Lesnar’s absence will affect the WrestleMania card?
As mentioned above, Brock Lesnar was slated for a surprise return in this year’s Royal Rumble match. However, the promotion decided to withdraw him. Some reported plans suggest that the former UFC Champion was due to set up his WrestleMania showdown from the mix.
Moreover, he had Dominik Mysterio lined up as the one who would’ve eliminated him last Saturday. And the two would then go on to battle at the Elimination Chamber. Also, Lesnar was confirmed to face Gunther at WrestleMania 40.
However, whether the Intercontinental Championship would’ve been on the line is not confirmed. With Brock almost certain to miss the big one in Philadelphia, his replacement is yet undecided. The word on the streets is that WWE is virtually rewriting the entire WrestleMania card owing to the recent wave of unavoidable circumstances.
